photo reflections: turkey, vol. 4

This is the mosque in Adana…the one I defiled by stepping on the carpets with my shoes. Whoops. Also, conveniently, the one I had to put Hammer pants on underneath my dress because apparently I wasn’t dressed modestly enough. It went to my knees, so I guess it was arguably too “revealing” for Muslim culture. I still don’t understand how me putting pants on underneath my dress outside the mosque seems like the solution. It was fairly awkward, if you ask me. Should I ever be in charge of mosques, I’ll provide a room for girls to “cover up” in. That same room will be even more appreciated when leaving the mosque, because something just seems wrong about taking your pants off outside the walls of a place of worship.
