These are some of the images from the day we came across the villagers washing their rugs in Adana. This was a pretty remarkable opportunity as it only happens once a year. I wish I remember the details about the holiday that triggers people pulling up their rugs for the summer, but I don’t. Sorry. All I know is that this community was having a ton of fun in the canal, especially the boys that mobbed me hoping to get their picture taken for Obama. Anyone have Barack’s e-mail address?
